You might be from Oklahoma...

Most of this blog involves pictures, but occasionally it ventures into something drier than the wind that blows so much we only notice when it doesn’t.  That would be our humor.

Please enjoy these two selections.

And

May God bless all of you Okies out there, and may God have mercy on those who don’t understand us.

I've never been to heaven, but I've been to Oklahoma

If you can just catch a sunrise or a sunset, you will change the countenance of your entire day.

What masterpieces unfold before us daily.

Glory to God in the highest!

This is Oklahoma.

Fog slows the pace

The sun is magnified through the dense fog.

In a part of the state where folks are used to seeing miles at a time, the fog has slowed down the pace of life.

Fog is good for something.

This is Oklahoma.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow

Praise God from whom all blessing flow.
Praise him all creatures here below.
Praise him above ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

This is the day that the Lord has made.
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

That about covers it.
This is Oklahoma.

Sunset west of Burns Flat

Saying goodbye to the day can be as wonderful as saying hello.

Oklahoma sunsets ignite the senses and melt the heart.

This is Oklahoma.

Same stuff, different day. Amen!

It's the same ole ashphalt, telephone and power poles, and base houses that were there the day before.

But the setting sun reminds us that each day is unique.

This is Oklahoma.

Got Imagination?

The Oklahoma sky frequently induces imaginative thought.  Whether you see pattern or contrast, blending or distinction, art or science, you know that you are in Oklahoma.

Perhaps our imaginations are just the result of being made in the image of a creative God.
