Winter is but days away.
The clouds now block the sun
But this western town has no rain today

A tough year for cattle

2011 has been a tough year for cattlemen.

Rain has been scarce.

Pastures are brown.

Feed is scarce and high priced.

Many cut their hurds to survive the drought.

Pray for rain.

Got Rain?

Yes, it does occasionally rain in western Oklahoma.

Local folks will ask you if you remember reading about the great flood in the Bible.

You say, "sure."

They reply, "We got two inches of that."

In western Oklahoma, there is no such thing as too much rain.

This is Oklahoma.

Look what the rain brought out!

After a considerable dry spell, there was rain and a good amount of it.

Apparently there was enough to cause this Tiger Salamander to seek refuge at the front door of the Cumbertland Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat, Oklahoma.

This is Oklahoma.
